Personal tuition is an excellent way to help students keep up with the pace of the class or help stretch them further.  At ScienceTutors.co.uk, we aim to provide the close attention and thorough and patient explanations needed to help the student flourish and achieve levels of understanding of the subject matter that otherwise may not have been possible.

A lot of emphasis, at all ages, is put on the results of exams taken whilst at school, college or university.  With expert tuition from ScienceTutors.co.uk, the student can enter the exam hall assured of the fact that they have had the chance to sit down one of our expert tutors and really get to grips with the subject.

We will endeavour to find the right tutor for your child. All of our tutors will have completed at least their first year at university with the majority having or working towards masters or PhD qualifications.

Many of our tutors also have extensive teaching experience as teachers, tutors or PhD demonstrators so you can also rest assured that not only will the tutor know the subject, they will also know how to teach it.

Rules, Safety and CRB

We check the references and backgrounds of all our tutors and source them from trustworthy sources. Whilst we do not require all of our tutors to have CRB checks, many have them and we actively encourage our tutors to obtain them.  If you would like to specifically request a tutor with a current CRB check then please include it in your request for tuition.
We do also require that while our tutors are tutoring the pupil, especailly those under the age of 16, that a responsible adult is present in the house at all times and that the door to the room where the pupil and tutor are is left open and the room frequently visited.  Alternatively the tuition can take place at a mutually agreed public place such as a library, school or university where there will be other people present.

How do I pay?

An invoice will be sent to your email address on a monthly basis (or after you have completed your course of tuition) stating the amount owed. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cheque. Please do not pay the tutor directly as this violates the terms and conditions of the sale of tuition services to the tutee and also violates the tutor's contractual agreement with us.

Late Payment

All transactions must be paid in full within ten working days of the invoice date.  After this date, interest may be charged at a rate of 8.00% per annum. For accounts that have not been settled within 30 days of the invoice date, a fee of £30 may be charged to cover the cost of maintaining and persuing the debt.  This fee will also be charged every 30 days thereafter until the debt is resolved.  Accounts that have not been settled within 90 days will be referred to the small claims court.  The court costs, the cost of any legal representation and any other costs incurred will be added to the original amount owed.

 If you are genuinely having trouble paying, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know.  We may be willing to allow you to defer payment or devise a scheme for payment in installments over a longer period of time. The sooner ScienceTutors.co.uk Limited is made aware of any troubles you are having, the more likely an amicable arrangement is to be made.

Cancellation Policy

Once booked, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.  Cancellations not made with at least 48 hours notice will be invoiced at the full rate. Refunds will only be made in exceptional circumstances where the tutor/ScienceTutors.co.uk is clearly at fault.

Data Policy

Any details supplied may be used by ScienceTutors.co.uk Limited and within the Bowers Hobbs Education Limited group of companies. Details will be used for tuition purposes and interneal marketing purposes only.  Your details will not be supplied to companies outside the Bowers Hobbs Education Limited group of companies.
